01 · The basics

Why your French Bulldog always needs to wear a harness.

French Bulldogs are brachycephalic. They have a short snout and narrow trachea. A collar puts pressure exactly where you want to protect. This can worsen breathing problems and is a real risk for this breed.

A dog harness distributes pressure across the chest and shoulders, far from the airways. For brachycephalic breeds, a harness is not just more comfortable, it is essential. Veterinarians agree: a collar and leash is not a good combination for a Frenchie.

02 · The product

What to look for in a harness for a Frenchie?

French Bulldogs have a unique body shape: wide chest, short back, and often a thick neck. A standard harness doesn't always fit well. You need a harness that is specifically adjustable at multiple points.

01

Wide chest strap (Y-shape)

Our Y-harness sits wide across the chest and leaves the shoulders free. No pressure on the trachea, maximum freedom of movement. Exactly what your Frenchie needs.

02

Softly padded material

French Bulldogs have sensitive skin. The soft, breathable inner material prevents chafing, even on warm days.

03

Adjustable at 4 points

Due to the wide chest and short back of Frenchies, flexible adjustability is essential. With 4 adjustable points, you always get a good fit, regardless of build.

03 · The right size

What size harness does a French Bulldog need?

Most adult French Bulldogs fit size S (chest 41-56 cm, weight 5-10 kg). Puppies and smaller Frenchies fit size XS (33-41 cm, 2-5 kg).

Frenchies are more compact than you think, so always measure the chest at the widest point behind the front legs. Use our size guide and measuring guide for help. Combine with a matching leash and collar in the same color.

Frequently asked questions.

What size harness does a French Bulldog need?

Adult French Bulldogs usually fit size S (chest 41-56 cm, weight 5-10 kg). Puppies and smaller Frenchies fit size XS (33-41 cm, 2-5 kg). Measure the chest at the widest point behind the front legs.

Why is a collar bad for a French Bulldog?

French Bulldogs are brachycephalic. They already have difficulty breathing. A collar puts extra pressure on the trachea, which can worsen breathing problems. A harness is always the safer choice.

Does this harness fit the wide chest of a Frenchie?

Yes. The harness is adjustable at 4 points, including the width of the chest strap. The Y-shape is specifically suited for wide chests like those of French Bulldogs.

Can my Frenchie escape from it?

If the harness fits properly, no. Make sure you can hold a maximum of two fingers between the harness and your dog. The 4 adjustable points ensure a safe, snug fit.
