The best dog harness for daily walks.
A harness distributes the pressure over the chest instead of the neck. Here we explain why, how to choose the right size, and what makes our harness different.
Why a dog harness better is than a collar.
With a collar, all pulling force is on your dog's neck. This can lead to problems with the trachea, cervical vertebrae, and thyroid. Especially with dogs that enthusiastically pull, this is a risk that you can easily avoid.
A dog harness distributes the pressure over the chest and shoulders. More comfortable for your dog, more control for you. Veterinarians recommend a harness for puppies, older dogs, and breeds with short snouts. A collar is fine for a name tag, but a harness is always safer for the leash.
What makes us dog harness different?
Our dog harness is softly padded on the inside with a breathable material that does not chafe, even on longer walks. The outside is sturdy and durable. After rain or mud, just rinse it off and it’s as good as new.
Front and back clip
Two attachment points: a clip at the front (anti-pull training, your dog turns towards you) and a clip at the back (relaxed walks). Switch whenever you want.
Adjustable at 4 points
Two adjustable straps at the chest and two around the belly. This way, you always get a good fit, regardless of your dog's body shape.
Sturdy brass hardware
All clips and rings are made of solid brass. Does not rust, does not break, and still looks good after months of use.
How do you choose the right measure dog harness?
Measure your dog's chest circumference at the widest point, just behind the front legs. Use a flexible measuring tape and leave two fingers of space. If you're in doubt between two sizes, always choose the larger one.
Size XS: chest circumference 30-42 cm. Size S: chest circumference 40-56 cm. Size M: chest circumference 52-72 cm. Size L: chest circumference 65-90 cm. Check our size guide for help choosing. Available in four colors: Cocoa, Lilac, Moonlight Blue, and Moss. Combine with our waterproof dog leash and poop bag holder for a complete matching look. Save with a harness set.
Frequently asked questions.
What is the difference between a harness and a saddle?
Nothing. In the Netherlands, 'harness' is the colloquial term, 'harness' the loanword. They do the same: distribute pulling force over the chest instead of the neck.
Is a harness also suitable for puppies?
Yes. Our harness starts at size XS (chest circumference 30-42 cm). Puppies have soft neck vertebrae, so a harness is always better than a collar. Do check regularly if the size is still correct, puppies grow quickly.
My dog pulls a lot. Does a harness help?
A harness with a front-clip makes it physically harder to pull. Your dog automatically turns towards you. But a harness is not a substitute for training. Read our no-pull harness guide for the best results.
Can our gear withstand water and mud?
The harness is not waterproof, but it is easy to clean and dries quickly. Just rinse it under the tap after a muddy walk and it will be as good as new.
